The Craziest of nights!!
Yesterday at 7:50 we were supposed to welcome home my little brother Chey from his mission! Well after about 4 hours of delays due to weather throughout the day we thought we finally figured out when his flight was coming in and headed to the airport at 10:00 because his flight was going to land at 11:08. We got to the airport and his plane had been delayed until 12:57. So we waited around and tried to keep the kids entertained!! His flight came in and we all got so excited holding signs that my mom had made to welcome him home!! All the passengers came flowing out and we were soooooooo anxious!! Well the passengers came.......... and went!! NO CHEY!! he was also supposed to be with 4 other missionaries. NO MISSIONARY'S!!! We started wondering what the heck was up and after much talking with delta we figured out that they missed there flight because they didn't make it on time from the other plane!! So now we know he is stuck in New York, but we have no clue where he is or when he is coming home and chey wrote down know body's phone numbers to call us! So all he did was call home and leave a message on my parents phone saying "I am in a wacky situation, but by the time you get this I will probably be with you, so I will see you later!!" WHAT THE ????? So we got back to my house and I spent about an hour and a half on the phone with the missionary travel center!! They didn't really know what was going on either because the missionaries were given instructions to call them if anything changed with their flights and not one missionary out of 14 called them!! So all they could tell me was that they were on standby for 6:35 the next morning so I needed to call back in the morning around 7:00am to see if he made that flight!! By this point it is 3:00am. So we tried to go to sleep and then woke back up at 7 to call them back. Chey hadn't gotten on that flight that they showed. So I tried to call the JFK airport to have him paged and we couldn't find him!! So we were running out of options wondering what the heck we should do. We then got a call from my brother Ian that lives in New york and he was asking us if chey had a good flight home yadda yadda yadda. We were explaining to him what happened and then he said "Oh well I have Chey right here with me!!!" Chey had remembered where Ian worked and went to his work with 3 other missionaries to find him!! We were so relieved and glad that Chey got to spend some time with Ian because they missed him going to the airport and thought they weren't going to see him!! So with all said and done!! He is flying in tonight at 7:50p.m. ....... WE HOPE!!!
