Tramatic??.... Yes!

My sweet little Raegan decided she wanted to get her ears pierced! We always thought it would be great to just let her decide when she wanted to do it and then make it spacial and take her and get it done! So when she heard that her little cousin Brooklyn was getting hers done, she decided it was time! We told her that Saturday the 19th would be the day and she was so excited! Josh and I took her to Claire's at the mall and she was so brave and sat right up on the chair and was so excited!! She picked out the earrings that she wanted and then let the lady mark her ears with the pen to make sure they were going to be straight! The lady then loaded the little gun and placed it next to her ear! I was so amazed how brave and calm she was being! She pulled the trigger and the earring went in... Raegan's face went from a smile to very concerned! She sat there and tried her hardest not to cry!! Josh of course grabbed her and said, "it's ok, you can cry" We then tried to hurry and get the other side pierced, but she was not going to allow it! This is when as a mom you feel horrible that you caused your child pain that didn't really need to be caused! We tried to take her mind of it and gave her suckers, and let her look around the store and pick out earrings, and she got to pierce a bears ears, we bribed her with ice cream, treats, and train rides... but when it came down to it she was NOT going to pierce her other ear!! I even had to tell her that people would call her Raegan One Earring!! We were getting desperate! So we finally got to the point where I told the girls to come over and it took four of us to hold her down! She was screaming and everyone in the store was probably thinking I was the worst mom ever! But we finally got the other one pierced! She was mad and kept telling me she wanted them out! But after a few minutes and a ride on the train, she decided she was very pretty in her new earrings! She LOVES them now and has to wear her hair up everyday so everyone can see them!! So the moral of this story is, if I ever did it again, I would do it when she was tiny so she can't move and she can't remember the pain!!

I want Evyn to decide if she wants her ears pierced too so I never pierced them when she was a baby either, but I think if I could go back I wouldn't cahnge my decision, maybe it will keep her from wanting to pierce her belly button in the future! haha! She looks so cute with them!

This is so going to be my story in a couple of years. I keep asking Macee if she wants to get her ears pierced and she says, "ummm no. it will hurt." I wish I would have done it when she was a baby too. Oh well. Live and learn and traumatize your child at it :)
